Welcome to the Township of Hamilton Police Department web page. We hope you use this tool to stay better informed, to keep us better informed, and to make it easier for you to get the service you need from your police department. The police officers, part-time special officers, dispatchers, and members of our clerical staff are trained, skilled, ready and committed to do one thing: to help you when you need help.
"To deliver quality police service that meets community expectations."
There are implications to the phrase that form a set of three basic principles on which we base our policing philosophy:
WE ARE HERE TO HELP
WE WILL WORK TO ALWAYS DO BETTER
These principles make us community-centered, meaning that we try to solve the problem, rather than just handle the call. It means that we are prepared to handle everything from a catastrophe to giving directions, from neutralizing the dangerous individual to returning a lost child to her parent(s).
Every day, on every shift, your officers enter your neighborhoods, patrol your highways, and protect your commercial areas, alert and prepared for the worst-case scenario, and ready to pick up and return to your yard a trash can that blew into the street.
Every day our public safety dispatchers ensure that you get prompt service as they channel the volume of telephone calls and radio transmissions associated with over 67,000 calls-for-service annually to our dispatch center, to get you the police, fire, and rescue help you need.
Every day our civilian support personnel aid those officers and help you get the police reports and information you need, and channel the flow of information to everyone who needs it.
