The patrol division is comprised of the patrol officers, detective bureau, K9 Unit and bike patrol.  The core function of the patrol division is to protect and serve our community.

To accomplish this task they are charged with upholding state and local laws by arresting violators, investigating crimes, serving warrants and identifying crime patterns and trends. These functions are carried out by working partnerships with citizens, business owners and other stakeholders within the community.

Another critical aspect of the patrol function is responding to emergency medical calls, securing and investigating motor vehicle crashes, and enhancing community partnerships.

Patrol officers are assigned to patrol 'beats' which allows them to become familiar with the people who live and work in the area as well as problem areas that may need special attention. They meet with neighborhood watch groups, property managers, business owners and school administrators to identify specific areas of concern and develop strategies for solving problems.

They perform these duties on a daily basis, around the clock, to accomplish the mission of the department;
