Hamilton Township Hometown Heroes Banner Program 2026

As of Monday March 9^th, Hamilton Township will be accepting applications for the 2026 Hometown Heroes Banner Program. The program honors current or former Hamilton Residents or their family members who have served or are serving our country in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard or Space Force (Army and Air National Guard included.) Proof of military service may be required.

Banners will be displayed on utility poles along Hamilton’s major streets. The exact banner locations are at the township’s discretion.  

Banners are 24” X 48”. They include the name and photo of the service member, their military branch and the banner’s sponsor’s name. For 2026, banners will be hung from on or about Memorial Day through mid-November, at which time they will be taken down and may be picked up by the sponsor.

Requirements:

• The service member/veteran must be a current or former Hamilton Township resident or family member. Preference will be given to veterans/active duty members who are from Hamilton Township.
• Banner requests are limited to one per family per year.
• Applicants must provide a high-resolution digital image (png or .jpg) or photograph.
• Applicants must turn in a completed application form, photo and payment to the Hamilton Township Administrator’s office.

Existing Banners That Were Displayed Last Year

Residents who purchased a banner in 2025 may have it installed and displayed again this year for $50.

New Banners

Residents may sponsor a new banner for $185.00 each, which covers production and installation costs.

Payment

Applicants must deliver payment (personal check made out to Township of Hamilton and reference Hometown Heroes on the check) to the Hamilton Township Administrator’s office at 6101 Thirteenth Street
Mays Landing, NJ 08330.

At this time, we have 38 pole locations available.  Application requests are on a first-come basis among qualified applicants. If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of banner spaces, they will be placed on a waiting list for display in the following year or a future date.

Please note: Hamilton Township is not responsible for replacing banners that are stolen, damaged or destroyed. Damaged banners may be removed at the discretion of the Township of Hamilton without notice.
